Contribution links can benefit from encapsulating SDI along with its audio, ancillary data and timing information, and sending it wrapped in a transport stream using the SMPTE 2022-2 standard. Up to now Stagebox has supported separate streams for video, audio and data but with the latest firmware release option, it can now support SMPTE 2022 also.

Users now have the set-up option of selecting essence based IP streams, ideal for in-studio applications, or SMPTE transport streams which can be the preferred option for contribution links outside the studio.

This new option works on the latest Stagebox hardware with no modifications required.

The addition of SMPTE 2022 support also makes Stagebox compatible with third party equipment that can handle 100Mbps streams.
